Thrive Together grew from an idea about helping communities connect with the people living around them. It’s hard to get to know everyone nearby—what services they offer, what goods they have, or what they might be willing to trade.
Sometimes it makes sense to hire a local service provider who may need the work more than the big-name businesses we usually find online. These “little guys” often do excellent work at a fair price, driven by the opportunity to prove themselves and succeed. Thrive Together is about giving these people a chance to be seen, while helping communities discover and support the resources and talents right in their own neighborhoods.
Here are some shots of the different sections of this webpage. I created the images and example content with AI.
I wanted to add features to Thrive Together that focus on mental health, conflict resolution, and guides to help us prepare for the challenges we face every day. Life isn’t just about work or the things we acquire—it’s about lending a helping hand and having one available when we need it most. Often, transactions are handled with money, but many times we could also barter or trade with someone right in our own neighborhood.
Think about it: maybe you notice someone did a fantastic job on a project, and you want to know who did it. Most of us would never take the time to find out—unless it was easy. Now imagine a platform created by locals that makes this simple. Users could share information about service providers or great deals in the area, creating awareness and fostering connections within the community.
For example, I want to know who cuts my neighbor’s grass because they did an excellent job trimming around the plants and keeping the lawn neat. Normally, I handle my own yard, but I’ll be away for about a month and need someone reliable while I’m gone. My neighbor is only at the house occasionally, so it’s hard to catch him or the landscaper in person.
With a platform like Thrive Together, this wouldn’t be a problem. I could simply open the app, see a list of local landscapers with ratings from other users, select one, and contact them directly—no asking around needed. All it takes is having local service providers join the platform, and we can all be more connected, informed, and ready to support one another.
